Time Series Experiment

We are ready to immediately begin analyzing size distributions over time.

Initial Experiment

The progression of distribution shape evolution is more interesting to me than mean size—we will not be the first people to study mean tumor size over time. The distribution’s progression of shape can inform what kind of factors drive tumor growth variability (environment, heritable fitness changes (i.e. evolution), or variability in when lesions begin growing), so the results of this experiment can guide subsequent experiments. A very wide range of time-points would be most useful with 4 mice (2 male, 2 female) sacrificed at each time point. Mice could be sacrificed at:

2 days, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 16 weeks, 32 weeks and/or until 1st death in cohort.

For 3 genotypes, this corresponds to 72 mice.

Genotype Dependence

Different genotypes may unleash different growth variability.
